Havening Techniques®

The Havening Techniques® is a set of tools that utilizes specific applied touch combined with some mindfulness based exploration. This can lead to a gentler and easier shift to a better balanced state, in our body and mind.

When individuals apply on themselves, it can be called Self-Havening® – to create one’s own safe Haven.

Just a Few Student Reviews

>> “I felt my body relax and let out a huge sigh of relief almost immediately after we began Havening. We all could benefit from incorporating stress management practices, and this one is relatively “quick and easy” so I see a lot of value in it for students.  I would absolutely recommend.”
– GT CoB STAMP scholar, May 2022

In our “ABC of Self Regulation Tapping” workshops that have been delivered all over the campus since 2020, actions similar to Arm and Hand Havening moves have been incorporated, so the Havining Touch may already feel familiar to you. Thanks to the funding approval in spring 2024 by the SGA Mental Health Coalition, with Havening founders, Drs. Ron and Steve Ruden as well as Havening.org‘s support, we are excited to be able to offer workshops introducing the IP protected Havening Techniques on campus freely, and at no charge.

Option 1: Sensory Based Stress Management Workshops (includes Self-Havening)

15-60 min experiential workshops are available to lead participants with some simple stress coping skills to support self-regulation, so individuals  can feel calmer and manage stress better in the moment.  We are in our third year to offer monthly workshops in collaboration with USG Well-Being, and some replays on the Havening Techniques are available here.   If interested in hosting a workshop specifically for your class or unit, please send the request to tapping@ece.gatech.edu.  You are welcome to directly invite the guest speakers (Nicole Carreon, Holli Englehart, )below also

Option 2: Havening Techniques Foundational Training (16 + hrs)

If you’re ready for an immersive, hands-on journey into the full range of Havening Techniques®, you are warmly invited to join the Havening Techniques Foundational Training — designed for experiential learning and personal growth.

What It Includes:

  • 16 hours of live, interactive training
  • Learn multiple forms of Havening (not just one)
  • Practice in a supportive community setting
  • Tools to strengthen your own well-being and presence
  • A foundation for those who may wish to deepen later (note: this  training in itself is not a practitioner certification)

Please Note:
This training is primarily offered for personal development, knowledge and confidence in understanding how neuro-regulation works, and to build a strong foundation of experiential understanding.  Attending this Foundational Training alone does not grant certification status or authorize you to practice “the Havening Techniques” with clients in a professional setting.  It is a required prerequisite for those who wish to pursue official certification later on.

Interested? Reach out to inquire or register. Space is limited.
